New look, same passion: more birds, more aviation, and the stories are back. ✨
Why a makeover?
The old Topic theme served me well for years, but it was getting slow and harder to keep up to date. Time for something new. The site now runs on Astra: lighter, faster and much easier to maintain. Same photos, same passion, a much better home for them.
What’s new?
- Uniform galleries: every monthly gallery from 2018 to now has the same clean layout, with a short intro about what that month brought. Browsing through the years feels like flipping through one photo album.
- Instagram feed on the homepage: my latest shots show up right away, so you’ll always see what I’ve been up to lately.
- Subscribe by email: don’t want to miss a new post? Sign up at the bottom of the page and new stories land straight in your inbox. No spam, promise. 📬
- My Gear page: people often ask what I shoot with. The answer now has its own page: cameras, lenses, field gear and the tools behind this site.
- Faster and safer: lighter code, optimized images and a good round of security work under the hood. You won’t see most of it, but you’ll feel it.
The blog is back
During a hosting crash years ago I lost a big part of my old blog: stories about walks, airshows, wildlife and the little creatures around the house. Luckily the internet doesn’t forget everything, so I’m bringing the best ones back, one by one, with the original photos wherever I could find them. Look out for the line “Originally published in…, refreshed in 2026”.
And of course there will be new stories too. The plan: a new post every month or so, about whatever crosses my path with a camera in my hand. 🦅✈️
