More from 2017
From the archive: photographed in 2017, published in 2026.
2017 wasn’t only about Apaches at the gunnery range in Germany. With the KNVOL I also got to look behind the scenes at two Dutch bases closer to home. Two short visits, two small series, so I bundled them in one post 📸
Woensdrecht – 131 EMVO Squadron
In May we visited 131 EMVO Squadron at Woensdrecht Air Base, where future Dutch military pilots take their first steps in the Pilatus PC-7. Outside, a black and yellow PC-7 was ready to roll ✈️ Inside the hangar, the lines and shapes of the trainers turned out to be perfect for black and white.
De Kooy – 860 Squadron
In October it was time for the Navy ⚓ A visit to 860 Squadron at Naval Air Station De Kooy: NH90 helicopters on the platform under the control tower, a historic Agusta-Bell AB-204B helicopter and a Lockheed SP-2H Neptune on display, and the base fire brigade showing what their big red crash tenders can do 🚒
Enjoy! ✨
