Belgian Air Force Days 2018
From the archive: photographed in September 2018, published in 2026.
As I announced in my Texel post, the next airshow on the list was a big one: the Belgian Air Force Days at Kleine-Brogel Air Base, on 8 and 9 September 2018 ✈️ I was there on Saturday 8 September.
A special edition
2018 was a special year. Sanicole took a break from its own airshow and teamed up with the Belgian Air Force to organise this event. The result: a real military air base full of fighter jets and helicopters, mixed with more civilian displays than ever before 🇧🇪 In 2019 the show moved back to Sanicole’s own airfield in Hechtel-Eksel, which you can read about in 2019 Sanicole Airshow was awesome.

Highlights
What a line-up! The Czech Air Force brought Gripen 9241 in its wild tiger livery, fresh from the NATO Tiger Meet 🐯 The Danes showed off their F-16 with the Dannebrog on the tail, a Greek F-16 roared off between the pine trees and the heather, and the Slovak Air Force came all the way with a MiG-29 Fulcrum. Old-school beauty was there too: the Dutch Hawker Hunter N-294. And of course the home team didn’t disappoint, with the Belgian Sea King in its black, yellow and red tail colours 🇧🇪
