Airbase Beauvechain and after that
Visit Airbase Beauvechain and after that
Airbase Beauvechain
Yesterday, April 27, we had the opportunity to visit Airbase Beauvechain, which is close to Brussel.
It is home to the 1st Wing, operating A109BA helicopters, and the Basic Flying Training School, operating SIAI Marchetti SF.260 trainer aircraft.
The base is used for the operational helicopter squadrons, and as a training center for pilots.
It’s not that often that you can have a look in the kitchen of an air force base 😉
So, I had an early start with Hans Paul Hemelaar, my brother in crime. Heading for Airbase Beauvechain to meet our Belgian aviator friends.
An album with photo’s of this visit will follow soon.

Then I heard a noise...
After that visit, we went to Brussel Airport to do some photographing of the landing airliners. The site where we stopped was a plain piece of ground and it didn’t take long before I heard a noise… This was not the sound of a landing plane.
I heard already a lot of them and that they are not easy to photograph.
But here it is. My first, Blue-headed Wagtail!!
This wagtail (Motacilla Flava) is a passerine bird in the pipits and wagtails family.
Yellow Wagtails grow to about 16 cm, slightly smaller than the Greater Yellow Wagtail.
Loving this…..
Back to sorting the rest of the photos from Airbase Beauvechain and filling up the Portfolio and the Aviation gallery
A never-ending story as you might have read in a previous post.
I mentioned the 2018 Frisianflag exercise. This was awesome again!!

Anything else?
Yes, I’ll upload some new photo’s to the albums and portfolio in the next couple of weeks. When I find the time
