This time the change is awesome!
Was it neccesary?
No, and yes.
The old website was a bit of a gathered bunch of plugins which made it a bit messy to work with.
For every small feature or details (like buttons etc.) I needed to install a plugin to get that done.
This way of building up the site came with its issues. But it worked somehow.
Obviously, to get that sorted out, I had to build everything up from scratch. But how?
A friend of mine mentioned, a few years back already, to take a look at a modern Theme with most of the features build in and which I would need. So finally I did search for a new Theme.
Actually, I found a few but ended up with this one from Kotofey, the Theme TOPPIC.
The process
It meant re-designing and rebuilding every gallery, post and pages. The re-designing is still in progress so at some point you might find some glitches.
Never the less, I learned a totally new way of editing with this Theme.
Although not really necessary, I’m using WPBakery now.
For me, it was a bit of a study though. Using WPBakery showed me a mess of the existing pages. All kind of VC-codes in the text lines, images were not shown and nothing worked. (O dear….)
Luckily for me, the internet is full of help and with some good support from the Author of the Theme, it all was getting shape very nicely.
Just have a look around. Awesome, isn’t it!
What's next?
A lot to do, still.
Besides the Portfolio and the albums, which I started to show a few years ago, there will be still a lot to do.
There have been some other changes as well with regard to my social-media accounts etc.
For some of them, I cancelled the subscription. So I need to update some links here and there in several posts.
I did create a new Facebook account, though. My family was following me on Facebook and as they are not familiar with other social media platforms I thought it was the right thing to do 😉
Just keep an eye out for changes. When there is one I’ll send out a post!
